TWO CHINESE STRAW GLAZED POTTERY FIGURES OF ATTENDANTS, TANG DYNASTY (AD 618-907). The male and female figures modelled standing, with their arms crossed or held to their chest, wearing long robes enriched in a straw coloured glaze, on rectangular bases. Each approx. 25.5cm high. Provenance: Property of a Lancashire family.
One cracked and restuck at neck, with small glaze losses, the other with no obvious damage or restoration. Both with remnants of original glaze and paint, some typical surface flaking, wear and deterioration commensurate with age and type.
