PROF. NGUYEN THU (VIETNAMESE B.1930), WATERCOLOUR ON PAPER OF SOLDIERS, framed and glazed, frame: 53 x 43.5 cm, 1966, signed and dated bottom right.
Prof. Nguyen Thu was born in Hanoi, Vietnam in 1930 and joined the army in 1946 as a cadet when the National Resistance was officially declared. He left the army in 1954 to resume his studies at the Fine Arts College, Hanoi, studying under To Ngoc Van. His work has been exhibited in Vietnam and overseas, including Paris, Sydney, Edinburgh, The British Museum, London and The Museum of East Asia Art in Bath.
