A Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Painted Pottery Buddhist Jar with Sanskrit Inscription. Complete with original cover, both cover and jar decorated with incised patterns and painted in white and reddish-brown pigments. The underside of the cover with a circular Sanskrit-type inscription in reddish pigment. 32 cm tall. 12th – 14th Century.
Provenance: From the collection of the late Brian Page (1938 – 2018), the well-known Oriental art collector and dealer.
