AN UNUSUAL Chinese porcelain pilgrim flask on splayed base decorated in anhua with the eight Buddhist emblems, ‘bajixiang’ and floral scrolls. Well potted with a flattened body, single spout to the shoulder and two pierced holes to the sides of the base. Covered in a bluish grey, white glaze. Ming dynasty or later. On hardwood display stand. Flask size 36cm tall x 28cm. Provenance: Property of a lady acquired in the 1990s.
Chip to end of spout. Hole drilled to centre of base. Indent to the body near base. Crazing throughout.
