Fine Japanese 19th Century Shijo Drawing by Nishiyama Kanei. The drawing of bamboo mounted in a glass-fronted frame. Written on the backing of the frame “FINE SHIJO DRAWING BY NISHIYAMA KANEI 1834 / 1897 WITH HIS SEAL GIVEN TO ME CHRISTMAS 2000 BY MY GOOD FRIEND AUBREY COLE, B.J.Page”. Dimensions of frame: 36cm (14 inches) square.
Provenance: From the collection of the late Brian Page (1938-2018), the well-known Oriental art and antiques dealer from Brighton.
