Five Japanese 17th Century Woodblock Printed Books (Heike Monogatari?). This group of books appears to be possible volumes of Heike Monogatari. They are mostly text but include many illustrations, including what appears to be famous samurai battl, . They date to the 17th Century. 18.5cm x 25cm.
Provenance: Purchased by Brian Page from Christie’s, London in September 1999. From the collection of the late Brian Page (1938-2018), the well-known Oriental art and antiques dealer from Brighton.
