TWO CHINESE PAINTED POTTERY FIGURES OF COURT LADIES, TANG DYNASTY (AD 618-907). Each modelled standing, with their features picked out in red and black, wearing their coiffured hair high on their head and long flowing robes. 25.5cm high and 26.5cm high. Provenance: Property of a Lancashire family.
Both have remnants of their original paint, the shorter figure has been cracked and repaired through neck with retouching to neck and chest, further small areas of retouching, some typical surface deposits and wear commensurate with age and type to both.
