AN ANTIQUE PRINTED MAP BY W. F. MAYERS, London / Hong Kong 1867. MAP OF FOOCHOW. Lithograph uncoloured. William Frederick Mayers was one of a number of British Consular officials active in the major ports and towns in the Far East during the mid-nineteenth century. Numbered and lettered keys identify 24 ‘Residences’, ie important foreign trade offices, missions etc and 26 "Hongs" or marketplaces. 295 by 150mm (11.5 by 6 inches).
