A LARGE KAKEMONO, NAKABAYASHI GOCHIKU (1827-1913). Ink calligraphy on paper in scroll. Nakabayashi was known as one of the best Japanese calligraphers in the Meiji period. After learning calligraphy in Edo, he went to China to research the technique of Chinese calligraphy. Signed with three red seal marks. In protective wooden box. Artwork 134cm x 53cm
Acquired in Japan between 1986-89.
